Why We Sponsor the SuperUtes


Many people have asked us why we sponsor the SuperUtes Series. ECB has been partnering with Australian Motorsport since 2012 when we become a sponsor of the SUV Category in the Australian Rally Championship, this moved to be the naming right sponsors of the complete championship the following years. In 2014 the move was made to sponsor the V8 Ute Series as this category was in the early stages of its journey to becoming the most market relevant sporting category in our industry – What is known today as the ECB SuperUtes Series.

A SuperUte starts its life as an everyday dual/twin cab diesel Ute; these vehicles fall into the most popular vehicle segment within the Australian market. Month on month we are repeatedly seeing that Utes are in the top 10 selling vehicles and are popular amongst all buyers; fleet, government and private. In the month of March 2019, 3 Utes made up 36% of the top 10 vehicles sold and in February 2019 this was 40%. All of these models are represented on the ECB SuperUtes Series starting grid, and with further vehicle manufacturers looking at joining the series the market relevance is growing each day.

Why is ECB sponsorship relevant to your business you might ask?

As motorsport is a passion for many people in our target market the exposure to ECB’s brand throughout a session is targeted in many ways. At each of the 8 rounds the ECB brand can be seen in several places – At the event live exposure is through the ECB Safety Ute, The Superutes, along with their pit area and further at the activation zones at various event. If watching on TV the brand is further promoted through virtual signage as well as being mentioned by the commentators. Then there is the endless exposure through social media.

As the consumer sees our brand and branding more they become aware of ECB being the “World’s Best Alloy Bullbar” which is “Lighter! Stronger! Better!”, 100% Australian Made and the Official Bullbar of Supercars. This in turn makes it easier to sell the ECB brand when a customer calls you or enters your showroom as they will recognise the ECB brand and know some, if not all, of our key features.
